An identity created for a wild bunch.

Wild and Green Forest School – Crowborough

A brand new venture set up by Louise and her team and launched in the summer of 2021, Wild and Green Forest School nestles in the heart of the scenic Ashdown forest that borders Crowborough in East Sussex.

Where to start? We worked closely with Louise to create an identity that would communicate a countryside aesthetic in a graphic, folky style while capturing the nurturing and educational role of the venture with a wise owl motif.

Two tawny owls, back to back, create a heart shape to convey a love of the woodland, nature and being at one with the outdoors. The inclusion of carefully chosen fonts (one authoritative, one naive to reflect the teacher-child relationship) and sprigs of umbellifers complete an identity that reflects Louise’s love of the iconic countryside illustrations that were used to promote UK tourism in the 1920s.

“Wild and Green quickly became fully-booked after a short social media campaign featuring our new identity, which clearly resonated with local families. The strength of our brand has been key to the success of our launch.”
